The sounds of clanging metal and moving machinery deafened the air. Marching boots clapped on the ground like gunshots with and every single angled step on the hangar floor. All activity was in sync, uniformed and precise throughout the facility and none broke the chain of operation. No one asked questions; simply attending to what they needed as more soldiers poured in and more commanders barked orders into the sound-drenched air. Slowly the sun began to sink into the distance as the base's lights began to replace it. Night was no different from day anymore. Nothing stopped any of the workers; the same work continued under different light. Once the sun rose, the work would continue until it began to bleed into your mind. With each passing second, more and more vehicles touched down within the hangar as more of them flew off toward their destinations. No one was certain that the hanger was seeing so much activity as of late. Rumors spread through the building like wildfire under this subject. Some spoke of another recruitment squad being sent out to nearby civilizations for potential new members. Others were saying there would be a vast conflict taking place in one of the nearby countries and all vessels flying or otherwise were needed. How countless ships and soldiers would blacken the sky with gunpowder and smoke and leaving the sky ablaze from such heated battle and conflict slicing through the skies like giant blades of action and war. None one truly knew for sure or why such commotion was occurring, all they knew was that there were positions to fill, jobs to handle and eventually weapons to lock and load for battle. More commanders lining up and walking down each line of machines; none of us could look up. Be it rain, sleet, snow or even a mortar, nothing could stop us when there is work to done. COTT: Hangar, by Luminarium artist *keepwalking07, presents us with such an image of military atmosphere and design, showing us how even stilled, the scene remains active.

Immediately one can see how the artist can see over his previous works by the further refinement of his craft. Sharper details, varied shading effects and general design choice all highlight the overall style that is presented to the viewer. The background and foreground elements manage to capture the cold-steel appearance that has made aircraft and military hangars have become synonymous with. Slight details such as decals on the helicopter and the support beams in the background, and even a few of the larger cracks and chips into the ground all bring out that much more with each and every individual glance upon the design. It all really captures the general feel of its environment and styling of the locations that they are based on. It also show the developmental evolution of what the artist is now capable of due to new found experience and experimentation with his craft.

While there are many things going for this piece, there are however quite some things that could be improved upon it. There is some nice detailing in parts like the helicopter or even the background and floor, but it still feels like its lacking sharpness or a finalizing touch to it to make it feel complete. Otherwise the copter simply gives off the feeling as if it’s missing something and desperately wants to find out what it is. Another thing I want to point out is that although I do like some of the monochrome metallic coloring scene, there is still some color usage that could have been implemented. Some industrial yellows and blacks would've looked really nice and contrasted with all of the grey and brown metals and stones within the locale. It would've not only livened up the entire scene but would have also added in your extra little personal touch to it, to help it stand out that much more.

In itself, there's enough to like about this piece to give it a look. The military scene looks nice and carries quite a bit of style within it. The dull gray colors could symbolize the boredom and mundane tedium that is industrial work; never breaking the chain but forever being stuck within as nothing really stands out to you anymore. However, the details and outlines of the compositional elements could do with a bit of sharpening, some subtle color touches and additions to perhaps the background and foreground and finally some additional details would have really livened up everything. All in all, the piece almost feels like a helicopter without gasoline. Well put together conceptually and architecturally, but it can't quite get off the ground just yet. A bit more refinement and practice added in and this piece will be soaring in no time. Nice work, Facundo!

After trying to read the story which was superfluous and completely necessary, I managed to get to the critique. Spoken from a guy who has most likely never spent time in a motor pool. As I said the lighting is spot on as is the composition there isn't too much going but enough to give a "Day to day activities" feel. It kinda feels like the belly of a carrier with the greatest source of light coming from the lift. The signage looks great though in the military the rule is eye level on all signage. The only thing I'd say could use more detail are the lines on the floor. Mr. existential was a bit wordy about emotion and mood but in the end I have to look at what you were trying to accomplish versus what you managed to do. and overall this piece has a not only a military feel, but a modicum of believability. The whole setup makes sense and I could see this sort of base being used by some civilization somewhere. Obviously this is a future piece and those machines are obviously inspired by the CH-47 Chinook helicopter or perhaps the C-17 ( or similar )cargo plane. The engines could be a bit more detailed overall though this pieces accomplishes what you set out to do.

Very very cool. I like how put a second aircraft on the lift kinda shows it off. The ground crew looks amazing. real attention to detail here.
