Titan Wars by FacundoDiaz Titan Wars by FacundoDiaz

Hi there, long time scince I post something here!. This is one of my personal projects I've been working on during the last days. Im trying a new realistic technique, wich makes things look more 3D. It took quite a while to finish this, but I'm quite satisfied with the result.
Anyway, this is a work in progress thing, so hopefully every work from now on should show more advanced stuff, and look more realistic...

Now, lets bring down some titans....! :D

Hope you like it!

Edit: color improved

The dark and foreboding sounds of war surround you and your group from all sides. You feel trapped; isolated from the world as your world seems to only involve death and destruction. The vast automatons that surround you are decimating your groups as if they didn't even exist to them. Nothing can penetrate this bubbled world no matter how hard your try to stop it or whatever enemy wanders into it. Throughout it all, all that matters to your group is the destruction of each and every single one of these vast machines that have done nothing but destroy your homes, your civilizations and you way of life. Each time one is encountered, everything is thrown at in order to stop its destructive path once and for all. Who knows how long the battle will last or how much destruction will be caused by this machine, but we know that the outcome will almost always be the same. Tens, even hundreds of your soldiers fall before one is finally brought to its knees. They always fall in a thunderous calamity of flames and shredded metal shards and hit the ground with a colossal explosion, illuminating the area around while covering it in flames and scrap metal. You will be stranded again without many supplies or resources. The most foreboding of your thoughts would have to be the fact that you have to deal with any future encounters. No matter how many of these thing you destroy in battle, there will always be thousands more that can easily take its place and the cycle of battle, death and destruction will continue once more. All one can do now is simply hope that the next battle will be further away from this one as possible...but is life ever that convenient? Titan Wars, created by the talented luminarium artist =keepwalking07, presents us with another action filled image of battle against the machines in our endless struggles against them. Managing to keep his signature style while improving on the design, he really brings out a lot more to the table than before.

The detailing placed in this piece, as with many others in his gallery is still just as incredible as before. Each and every scratch in the machine's armor, the crumbling ground underneath its feet and even he various clouds of smoke from destroyed machines and ignited bombs really catch the eye and guarantee to immerse the mind of viewer. The motion blur effects added to certain parts of the image really give the piece a nice feeling of movement as well as a dynamic styling to that is guaranteed to catch the attention of all who look at it. Shading is also a great improvement over the artist's past works. The shadows meld with action occurring ranging from drop shadows on characters in the foreground to the various shadows cast from explosions and flying parts of machine and metal alike. The same compositional elements that sculpt the detailing of the piece are also integral in presenting the atmosphere that is set before us. The smoke and flame filled skies really give off the impression of an intense battle against the Titans and it really gives the piece that much more personality to the viewer and never ceases to impress.

While there has been much more improved from the artist's past pieces, there are still a few things that could be improved in this piece. For instance, now that all the detailing has been improved and the atmosphere more engaging, I would suggest trying to modify the scale of the event. I feel as though there should be more occurring in a piece like this as well as presenting the viewer with more to see as the perspective of this image feels a bit more isolated and linear. Try to see if your could add more depth to the piece and bring out that extra piece of personality that lurks within the piece. With each and every single design you do, you're getting closer and closer.

Who knows what the future of combat will bring to us, whether it be death or providence. So many different variables are presented to us with how our future will go; or we could simply fade away in the dusts of war and chaos. One thing is certain though, as long as pieces like Titan Wars are still around, I have a feeling that maybe the future may not be as bad as I thought. Good work, Facundo!

Could you draw me three titans next to a city with a small 'viewer' in the front image one time? :)
